Trolls are just jealous

I felt I had to write in to object to the title of an article on the flame trolling of Jesy Nelson in the Echo (“Internet trolls targeted me over my weight”, September 5).

While it might be convenient for the media to reel out stories on how someone has been “flame trolled” for their weight, race or looks in any other way, it does nothing to solve the problem.

Isabel Fay is trying to raise awareness of what the issue really is by selling a lyrically frank MP3 on Amazon called “Thank You Hater“, to raise money for the BeatBullying charity.

The reason these “Hater Trollers”, also known as Snerts, target people’s looks is because it is easy for them to identify this perceived weakness.

The real reason they do it is because they feel that person is more successful than them in an area that it is not possible for them to excel in.

Anyone from a modest background with any confidence will be their targets.

So people should, as I do, enjoy the attention from these Snerts and learn to play their game, as it is much more fun knowing they are really jealous and exploiting this fact than letting them get to you!
