Sale of foie gras should be banned

April 26th, 2007

According to the RSPCA at around 12 weeks of age some ducks and geese are force-fed two to three times daily to produce foie gras, which means ‘fat liver’. While its production has been banned in the UK the sale of it is still allowed, and this should stop.

Unfortunately, this so-called delicacy is growing in popularity on restaurant menus across the country and TV Chefs often use foie gras in their recipes, which I think is unacceptable.

Making the product causes many birds to suffer greatly, and these personalities are making this animal abuse seem acceptable.

One of the things I like about the area by the bridge in Pontypridd is that you can occasionally see ducks swimming in the River Taff free from the abuses of these cruel cuisine menaces of the world force-feeding their cousins.

This animal abuse must stop. Causing extensive pain to animals for the gratification of malicious human beings is not acceptable.
